Christmas décor wish list
Time to get organised! Christmas is my favourite time of the year, and decorating is my expertise, and for the last couple of weeks I’ve been putting a bunch of things in virtual shopping baskets, so I’ve combined them in a wish list.
While I mightn’t buy ALL of them, I’ve ordered some already and I’m planning on purchasing some more to keep building my Christmas décor stash. Candle holders, candles, quirky baubles, stars in all sorts of sizes and materials, table runners, doormats and little trinkets, all the things that help to create a festive cosy atmosphere in December. I like to keep the décor in neutral tones so I can use it over and over again, and keep building a cohesive collection year after year. Gold, of course, + black & white is the base of all my decor items. Not going overboard with colour will ensure it won’t go out of date and you won’t get sick of it. I also try to steer away from the typical green + red. Those are strong primary colours and can easily clash with interior, other shades, and feel overbearing. I love adding pops of red as accents, and use green in various shades, from dark forest greens to light pastels. And pops of other colour, too, mostly pinks, because this is my favourite colour, and works so beautifully with red.
1 Swedish Angel chimes from Nordic Nest. I love rotary candle holders, the movement and the way they play with light. This will go on my dining table.
2. Julia Christmas star from Nordic Nest. Paper star with a twist, I love how it’s so simple yet the gold lines add such elegance to it.
3. Ice advent star. Pink, love it.
4. The ring candle holder from Nordic Nest. I’ve ordered this one, too. We used to light an advent candle each Sunday as a count down to Christmas when I was a kid, and I want to keep this tradition going, leaving the religious connotation behind.
5. Note advent candle from Nordic Nest. On my wish list. This would look so good in the window as a replacement to traditional welcome triangle.
6. Paolla candle sticks from Nordic Nest. Best of all, can be used all year round.
7. Star garland from Nordic Nest. It’s so pretty, I’ve ordered two of these, and I’m planning to wrap them around everything.
8. Taper candles from HM Home. Some of the most affordable tapers around, I got A LOT of these.
9. Gold advent star. On my wish list.
10. Stoff Nagel candlestick from Nordic Nest. This goes on my wish list. Maybe next year.
11. Metal star decorations. Pretty on the tree or as an add on to your Christmas wrapping.
12. Glass Christmas tree decoration. Quirky and nostalgic, these delicate glass baubles remind me of childhood and my mums treasure baubles from her own childhood. Our Christmas tree decorations are eclectic, and I love adding a couple new baubles every year.
13. Littala Christmas baubles from Nordic Nest. I love these. Glass baubles look so good both during the day with the low winter sun rays shining through, and in the dark with the fairy lights.
14 Festive doormat. It’s between this one and the one below, I haven’t yet decided.
1 Maja advent star. This one might be the most beautiful of them all.
2 Gold glitter star garland. This would be so pretty as a stair garland. Can also be used as a childs birthday decor, win win!
3 Holiday doormat from HM Home.
4 Ekorre serving tray from Nordic Nest. I couldn’t resist and ordered myself this one. It will look so cute with Christmas treats.
5 Glass Christmas tree bauble from HM Home. Perfect for my eclectic collection.
6 Saoilse Christmas apothecary diffuser. My Christmas must have, along with their Christmas candle.
7 Candlestick from Nordic Nest. So pretty. On my wish list. Maybe for my Christmas centerpiece.
8. Rotary candle holder from Nordic Nest. I already have a couple of rotary candleholders, but one can never have too many. This is also going to be mine.
9 Tipp tapp table runner. On my wish list. I love the runner I have, gifted by a friend living in Sweden, but I’d love to swap it for a festive runner for December.
10. Christmas tree decoration.
11 Mini lantern/tealight holder from Nordic Nest.
12 Gold salad servers. I’ve ordered these, and I’m looking forward to serving my Christmas dinner with fancy utensils.
13 Gold star chandelier from We are Barn. This would look so good above Christmas dinner table.
14 Advent candle holder from Nordic nest. I looked at several holders before I settled for the one mentioned above, but this one is also so pretty.
15. Advent star light from Nordic Nest. Also on my wish list. Some day this will sit in every window in my house. Such a pretty alternative to the traditional triangle.
16. Molly advent star from Nordic Nest. I left this on my wish list for next year, but, eventually, I want my entire ceiling decked in paper stars. Only a slight exaggration.
